Prof. Peter H.N. de With graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology in Eindhoven. In 1992, he received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Technology Delft, The Netherlands, for his work on video bit-rate reduction for recording applications. He joined Philips Research Labs Eindhoven in 1984, where he became a member of the Magnetic Recording Systems Department.
Dr. Gijs Dubbelman is assistant professor with the Eindhoven University of Technology and is heading the Mobile Perception Systems (MPS) lab, which focusses on signal processing technologies that allow mobile sensor platforms to perceive the world around them. Key research areas are: computer vision, pattern recognition, robotics, and sensor fusion. Important application domain of MPS are automotive and transportation.
Dr. Fons van der Sommen is assistant professor in the VCA research group headed by Prof. De With. His research focusses on Computer-Aided Detection and Diagnosis (CADe/CADx) for oncology, aiming to increase the detection rates and early diagnosis of developing cancer. For this, Fons is working closely with medical specialists in an interdisciplinary team, aiming to translate medical domain knowledge into technical algorithms and vice versa.
